That was a wonderful Happy Birthday aka testimonial post from one of my clients Mindy Raf. I want to keep it original and I would love to share with the world. Also keep it here for the future.
I met @ramonak77 in fall of 2015 when she led a goal setting workshop that @apredovan dragged me to kicking and screaming. We had to fill out these goal worksheets and I spilled wine all over mine. ????
But I liked Marina.
I met her for a one on one in 2016 and went in thinking “please don’t make me fill out another worksheet.” Of course she did.
I told her about the 60 projects I was working on (but not really ) half finished book outlines, podcast titles and theme music, scenes for web series, half scripts of pilots…and I thought I was being so productive, but really I was unfocused.
And I was lost and a little sad because I wasn’t performing as much anymore, and hadn’t really felt like myself on stage since I had come out and I wanted to rewrite my stand-up in a way that felt more like me. ????????
We set a goal to “Be Mindy” which even as I type it now I’m like What? I have to remind myself to be myself? WTF.
But I think when you’ve been performing for so long, you sometimes get lost in what you think you need to be in order to be liked, how you think you should present yourself to be popular, or what you think you can only share to be accepted. So we made this goal “Be Mindy.” ✨
And a year, one 30 min stand-up show, and two solo shows later -here we are.
????????
I’ve been meaning to share my gratitude for Marina for awhile now so what better time than on her Birthday. I would not have delved into what Keeping My Kidneys has become without @bigidealabnyc HAPPY BIRTHDAY Marina!! ????
And if you need to slow down and focus, or require a joyful task master, Marina is your gal. Happy happy, many more!
