As I continue leading Slow Down Retreats on monthly basis, I get a lot of interesting responses from people.
I know not everyone can take a retreat for different reasons and it is understandable.
For those who can not join me, there is a simple and powerful breathing technique I do daily to connect with my body and get centered. I also start with it every retreat to get us in the mode of slowing down.
It takes a minute to slow down and you can start anywhere.
Everything starts with the first small step.
Breathe deeply and slowly through nose into lower part of abdomen until an actual feeling or sensation of the stomach is attained.
Relax shoulder, face, forehead, and jaw.
Feel pulse in chest or throughout the body.
Be very attentive to yourself, repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 a couple of times. This small amount calmness and peace will give you sense of having a little retreat of your own.
Remember you got to start somewhere and it could be a minute.
